“From over four thousand schools in US an international applicant is faced with the dilemma of (Blindly ) picking the most suitable (place). I counseled Ms.Priyanthi  Dissanayake for two main reasons: Ms.Dissanayake visits her schools each year and she knows what’s best for each one of us . She is not only one of the most experienced counselors but also a mother to each one of us. I saw Otterbein College through her eyes and I trusted her implicitly. I know I would fit in perfectly and Westerville would be a second home to me. I am more than satisfied with her service and so grateful to have found her”

‘Priyanthi is undoubtedly head and shoulders above the rest of the private student advisors and has single handedly done much to advance the cause of  US higher education in the eyes of Sri Lankan students and parents.’

    Preman Rajadurai, General Public

‘I read the article where you have helped this Johnian gain admission to a US university and  brought tears to my eyes. On behalf of  all old Johnianans  and as a Tamil I  wish to thank you, and I wish there will many more Sinhalese who will build the bridges, which  broken by narrow minded politicians in Sri Lanka.
Your goodwill gesture will go long way in cementing harmony between the two major communities.

    Goolbai Gunasekara, Principle

I must make special mention of Mr. and Mrs. Dissanayake  who are Guidance Counselors and University Placement Advisors  who have been tireless in their help in getting students  who are not always from International Schools into Colleges of the USA with good Aid offers. AIS has had need of their expertise at times as sometimes our cleverest and most deserving students do not gain any placement. Mr. and Mrs. Dissanayake offer them not only hope but also concrete help for which I thank them both most sincerely.

I wish I could take credit for the group of Sri Lankan students, but I need to thank the Dissa’s for referring them to Ashland University. They are exceptional and wonderful to have in our program, and great ambassadors for your country.

    Mitch Leventhal,University Official

‘Priyanthi and Dissa… are a husband and wife team who run a boutique operation – perfect for the Sri Lankan context. They arranged for my meeting with the U.S. Ambassador as well as with the Minister of Higher Education.  They are media masterminds…(whose) services have been essential to the forging of one major strategic relationship that University of Cincinnati now have – the 2+2 dual degree programme with the Institue of Chemistry (Ceylon). The agreement we now have would have never have come about without your assistance.’

So far everything is good and we are loving it. Both Prasanna and I have Graduate Assistantships. Prasanna gets half of his tuition free (&) he is working with one of the professors and also tutoring undergrads. All my tuition is free until I graduate. I’m working for the Admission and Marketing Communications departments of the University. In addition both of us get a monthly allowance too. Since we are both busy with studies and work, Niyumi now goes to a daycare facility right next to the place we live. I’m sure you are happy to hear this and we wanted to share this excellent news with you too.
